I knew the second I walked over the threshold. Just like finding the school, the one, the dress. This 1920s Dutch Colonial would be ours. The potential in its creaky floors and leaded windows made the move from the city to the suburbs worth it. Projects upon projects awaited us, along with quadruple the bathrooms and a seasonal water view. Kids get their own rooms? We were sold.

As promised, we’ve lived 4 seasons in this house and in between egg hunts and pool parties, pumpkin carvings and tree trimmings, we’ve carefully drafted and re-drafted our renovation wishes. 2015 will be the year of the construction, and my noble new years resolution is to document our progress here.
